Birdseye or Piri Piri Chilli is bullet shaped chilli introduced to Africa by the Portugese around the 1500s. Strictly speaking Birdseye is the fresh chilli, while the dried is called Piri Piri. Birdseye is typically used with chicken and measures 300.000 SU on the scoville scale.
