We live in a world where nearly everything is seen as replaceable or
disposable. When we talk about throwaway culture, we’re talking about an
economy strongly influenced by consumerism. One that features
overconsumption and a preference for short-lived products, rather than
creating durable goods.
Throwaway culture is draining the world’s resources, as well as our
pockets. Our short-termism is also harming our environment, polluting
our oceans and our wildlife. And that’s exactly why we are running an
exciting campaign over the next two months.
This week sees the launch of #ThrowawayCultureUnwrapped.
We will be unravelling the truth behind our obsession with disposable
products and spotlighting the latest innovations that are combatting
this problem.
We will be posting blogs, facts, tips and insightful articles on the
subject. A single-use packaging seminar will highlight plastic problems
in the workplace and we will be posting a handy guide to help your
workplace quit its plastic fix. We’ll also be announcing an exciting new
charity partnership for 2018.
Finally, to end our campaign we will be running a competition rewarding
the ultimate zero waste champ with a hamper of goodies, so keep your
eyes peeled and best of all, get involved!
